Freedom cannot flourish in the soil of oppression

For anyone who has ever attempted to grow anything we know that it is essential to care for the soil in which you will plant.  Even casual interest reveals that you cannot hope to be successful without attention to the circumstances and environment that you are working with.  This leads me to believe that our present circumstances in our communities and particularly on the campuses of our colleges and universities must be entirely promulgated from a position of ignorance.  Surely our college students, our participants in the process of higher learning can understand that you cannot hope to grow freedom as you simultaneously sow the seeds of oppression and tyranny.  It falls now to those with wisdom to instruct our fellow countrymen of all races, creeds and backgrounds that they cannot demand the silence of others while crying that they cannot be heard.  It is folly to believe that you can demand justice as you call for injustice to be visited upon your neighbor.  In the images of justice the lady is always blindfolded because justice should be blind to the race, sex, creed, economic circumstance or any issue other than the humanity of the party or parties.

We are forcing, via the twisted and misguided concept of social justice, a weakened and wholly pitiful form of favoritism on our people which in no way resembles or even approaches justice.  We are calling for the silencing and censorship of our students in places of higher learning because we will not abide difference of opinion.  Mind you that we are not actually righting any wrong but rather we are doing egregious harm to our entire society when we raise our young to ignore the freedom of ideas and the open competition of our minds to seek truth.  If we do not reverse this trend of horrid sensitivity and fling wide the doors of academia once more we will witness the end of freedom, the shackling of our minds and the death of the individual as an acceptable concept.  Freedom cannot grow in the soil of oppression and we must awaken to that truth or ours shall be the last generation of Americans to truly know freedom and the blessings of liberty.
